Baseball This Summer

I'm not a big baseball fan, but I love going to games! I went to see the Red Sox with Mom, Sarah, Raf, and Nathan. Sarah and me with almost matching shirts, ponytails, and earrings. We are so much alike. :)Mom looked cute at Fenway!

It was fun! I don't have a good picture of all of us, but maybe Sarah will put one on her blog. (Hint hint)

Then I went to see the Mets with Raf, Scott, and Mr. Cruz! It was a very long game -- 14 innings!

Shea was so big! I think Jose Reyes is in the photo. :)

Home run apple! We got to see it 3 times.

New Green Shelves

I had a great weekend in New Hampshire! I got these new green shelves at Abode in Portsmouth. Abode is a super cool home store, unlike any I've been to. It's really big and full of good stuff!

I'm so excited about my shelves! I'm not sure what I'm going to put on them yet, but probably some pretty plants and books. I think they looks great with the rug we already have. They're in the living room:

Tuttles Red Barn

Since I was little, one of my favorite activities has been grocery shopping. While my absolute favorite grocery store is Wegmans (which I'll write more about the next time I get to go there), I love shopping in interesting stores in the New England area. One of the best is Tuttles Red Barn in my home state of New Hampshire. It is the "America's Oldest Family Farm." It is in Dover, one of the oldest cities in the U.S. I love that it's full of interesting things to look at and buy, many of which are from New Hampshire. It is one of my favorite places to buy plants. They have beautiful outdoor plants, like the giant coleus below, and a big greenhouse which makes it a great place to shop all year!They have a gift section too, but the grocery part is the best! Tomatoes are my favorite food, I don't know why I didn't buy any of these:Delicious! The selection is really great and I never leave without buying something cool. My Sneaky Photo

I saw this really cute dog while I was on a site visit at work today. I had to pretend I was taking a picture of the manhole, but I really wanted a picture of the dog! :)

Paper Picture Frames

I mentioned in an earlier post that I would like to make picture frames out of the super-cool Paper Source paper. I finally got around to making a few and I love how they came out:

The only problem is that I haven't been able to fit the glass back into the second frame yet. I think I'll try some sanding both the frame and the glass. I still need to perfect the frame wrapping technique. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be! I also made a paper mat and I think it looks great!

My new plan is to frame lots of mirrors in different shapes and sizes and cover each frame in a different type of paper. I'll hang the mirrors on the wall behind the TV. I love the idea and I hope it looks nice when I'm done.

Things I (Might) Want

Sometimes I go through phases when I find lots of things I want to buy for the apartment. I usually can't afford all of them so I have to pick and choose and sometimes I choose none, but here are a few items I've had on my mind lately:

Ruffle Edge Cork Board in Parisian blue (left). I think it would be nice in the bedroom above the bed. I don't really need a cork board there, so maybe I could cover it with something like a poster or pretty paper. I wonder if it's like a picture frame and I could switch out the cork board for something else like a mirror. I really love this type of ornate frame and I love the color too.

Recycled Paper Mobiles from Frazier & Wing. I can't decide which color I like or where I would put one. The red and white would be nice in the kitchen or the purple and white would be nice the the bedroom or dressing room. I think they're so pretty. I wonder if I could make something like them!

After a disastrous (okay it wasn't that bad) attempt to match the red chairs in the kitchen I've decided to go for contrast. I can't seem to get these white Bertoia side chairs out of my mind. I know they're very popular, but I just love them. They're expensive so I need to think about buying them carefully, or work harder at finding a good bargain on ebay.

I really want to make these Tissue Paper Pom-Poms. I think they're cool because they're so huge! I want to hang them in the bedroom in front of the bay window with the pink and red paper lantern mom gave me. Once I learn how to make them I think maybe I'll hang some in different colors above the kitchen table. I wonder if I could find some instructions without buying the kit.

More Country Wall

It's been a long time since I've added to my blog, but I'm excited to put up some new posts. Hopefully I still have readers! :) I recently did some shopping on Etsy for the country wall. I just love browsing through the prints on Etsy. Here's what I bought:

"Lake Coeur d Alene" by VIZArt in Spokane, Washington. I know it's not really New England, but it could be! The colors are much more vibrant in person than they are on my computer.

"Perennial Moment" by Papermoth in Kentucky. I also bought this print in purple and gold. I'm planning on hanging them in the bedroom with white frames.

"Purple Pine" by SureAsBlue in New York State. I love purple and I love pine trees!

"Dot to Dot Blossoms with Bird" by Hadley Hutton in Portland, Oregon. This print is so cool in person! I might buy more from this artist.

"Black Cat Dreamers" by AliceinParis in Nova Scotia. This artist has so many cool prints, it was really hard to decide which one to buy. I chose this one because I love the sailboats, black cats, the tree and especially the swirly sky. Mom bought the Quilt Cat print that is also really cool.

I'm really excited to hang them all up. I've been in a country mood lately, maybe because the city is so hot. Although after this past weekend NYC, I think the city wall needs so work! This is a really fun project and I'm going to keep building my collection. I love walls with lots of framed pictures, so hopefully my city and country walls will turn out that way.
