Trix Treats

I read about Trix Treats on Cakespy and they looked so pretty I decided to make them. They're Rice Krispie Treats made with Trix. I think they're so much cuter. They taste really good too.

All Star Sandwich Bar

Rafael and I went to the All Star Sandwich Bar in Inman Square last night. Aside from delicious food, my favorite part about the restaurant is it's brightly colored decor. It looks really cool from the street:I love the inside with orange and blue walls and big menu chalkboards.
I love everything I've eaten here like their Monte Cristo and Cubano, and sides like macaroni and cheese, stuffing, and cornbread fritters. They have lots of daily specials which is cool. Last night we had hand-cut fries and their "Funky" sandwich of the night which was tortilla-crusted chicken with guacamole and tomatillo salsa. It was delicious! As you can see, Raf was excited:
And I was happy too!

Zapatos Nuevos

Raf drove me to Target today and I bought 5 pairs of shoes! Did you know Target has cool shoes? I didn't. I'm always shopping there now. They were all less than $20!

I'm so excited about all of them! I bought this style in pink, purple, and brown:I'm going to wear the pink pair with black tights. Purple is my favorite color and I can't wait to wear purple shoes. I bought purple socks to wear with them when it gets cold.

I bought this style in brown and black:

They have embroidery on the sides too. These will make my work outfits so much more fun. :) Here is me modeling a few:It was a lot harder to take pictures of my feet than I thought it would be!

Cauliflower Cheese Soup

I'm so excited for Fall to come! It's the best season, especially in New England. I decided to make one of my favorite Fall recipes this week, Cauliflower Cheese Soup, because the weather is becoming more crisp and cool. Mom has been making this soup for a long time and I love it. The recipe is out of Mollie Katzen's super cool Moosewood Cookbook. By the way, if you're ever in Ithaca I recommend the Moosewood Restaurant. The food is delicious! Anyway, here is the before picture (don't worry, not all of this went into the soup):
It's made with really simple ingredients, and it tastes amazing. Here is a during picture (I made a lot of soup, I hope Raf is hungry!):
And after!
You cook all the veggies and then blend them all up and add cheese, milk and dill. And it's ready to eat!
It's super delicious! :)

Curly Spider Plants Update

I planted the baby curly spider plants. I hope they're happy.
Now grow dudes!

I also put this wild plant in a new pot because the wind knocked it over and it fell out of it's old pot:

I like the leaves. I hope it gets big.

A Blue Version

I made blue jello in the mold this time!
It looked cool when it came out but I sort of missed the middle of the plate.
I wonder if I can get more jello molds somewhere. It's really fun to make!

I Want to Eat Churros!

Have you ever had churros? I have, but I don't remember where or when. I know they're delicious though. I remembered them when I saw a picture on Pintame El Dia.
I didn't even know what they're called until Rafael told me. He likes them too. We want to eat them NOW! I wonder where we can find them in Boston...Don't they look delicious? Yum yum yum yum! And here is a funny ad:

Miracle of Science

Raf and I went to the Miracle of Science Bar + Grill in Central Square last night after we saw Vicki Christina Barcelona. It was really cool and fun. We sat at the big open window on the left and watched people walk by. It was a really warm night so it was fun to kind of sit outside. We had delicious margaritas:I liked the menu that looks like a periodic table (sorry the picture is a little dark):I will definitely go back there and eat sometime. I've heard they even have really good brunch. It had so many of my favorite things like margaritas, a laid back atmosphere, cool decorations, and science! Plus, it was really close to home. Here's another view: I don't have any good pictures of Raf and me there, otherwise I would put them up too!

Jello Mold

Rafael had his wisdom teeth out yesterday :( so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out the new jello mold I bought in an antique store a few weeks ago. The jello mold is really pretty:

I think I'm going to hang it in the kitchen. I liked how the jello looked in the mold:It came out nicely too, except for one little section:I might have left it in warm water too long while I was taking pictures because it came out a little watery.

A beautiful dessert for Mr. Toothless:

I loved how this came out and I'm definitely going to make it again. Maybe next time I'll use my whipped cream maker!

Wire Chickens

I seem to have started a collection of wire chickens. First Grandma gave me this super cool green one:Then I bought this black one when I was shopping with Mom a few weeks ago:
Cuties! I think the one from Grandma is cooler, but I really like both. I'm going to plant Hens and Chickens in them when I get organized!

Wizard of Clay

The Wizard of Clay is a potter near my grandparent's house in the Finger Lakes in New York. Their most popular pottery has a beautiful leaf pattern. I think they make the pattern using real leaves. As you might have noticed, I love things with trees and leaves. The only piece I have is this lovely planter:
My String of Pearls is very happy in it. Here is another, more detailed, view:
It's fun to visit other family members and see Wizard of Clay pottery in their houses. Mom and I gave Sarah a beautiful lamp and planter for her wedding shower. My grandparents have lots of cool pieces in their house. Can you see the pretty hanging lamp my Aunt Susie has in Maine?
I just noticed a Wizard of Clay bowl right in front! Cool Susie! :)

Polenta Obsession

I love Pastene Polenta so much! It's super delicious and easy to make. I confess, I've eaten it 8 out of the past 10 days, but I really like it! This week I made it with parmesan and home-made pesto:And with cheddar on top:
I think I might make it tonight too. ha! :)

Government Center Farmer's Market

As you can see, I've been visiting a lot of good farmer's markets these days. The Government Center Farmer's Market takes place on City Hall Plaza every Monday and Wednesday. It's a big market with lots of fruits, veggies, flowers, baked goods, crafts, and sometimes even live music! I try to go as often as I can during my lunch break.

People buying veggies in suits and ties are so cute! All of the farmers have such great selections:Some of the vegetables are so pretty. Now for some pictures of my absolute favorite food: Tomatoes!

Delicious! There are so many pretty and interesting things to see! This is my favorite lunch time activity. :)

Tecce Farm

I went with Mom to a farm stand she likes called Tecce's in Lee, NH. We bought lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.
It was such a beautiful place, like a little bit of the Finger Lakes in New Hampshire.I love farm stands!
